In this interactive course we will explore three of Shakespeare's plays: A tragedy, Othello, and two comedies, As You Like It and The Merchant of Venice. You will meet Iago and Othello, Rosalind and Touchstone, and Portia and Shylock. We will discover the role that love, jealousy, and revenge can play in shaping events. Background information including film and television clips along with our own close reading of selected scenes will help guide our discussions.

Larry Mansier is a retired teacher of English, Film and Drama. In addition to a B.A. in English from Rutgers University, he has pursued a number of graduate courses in his field including a Ford Foundation grant to study drama at Montclair State University.
